Beginnings are hard. For those with ADHD, they are brutal. Why this, why now? I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and writer. I had to fight like hell to get through school and become the former. Now, I start the fight to become the latter. I’ve been at war with my labels for as long as I can remember. “Special Ed”, “Learning Disabled”, “Hyperactive”, “ADHD”, “Major Depressive Disorder”, “Bipolar”, “Dyscalculic”. It’s a lot, and I’ve put most of them behind me. Now, I just want to write and let my words speak for me.
